The Birthday number
The day of the month you were born, reduced to a single digit. The smallest of the core numbers, and the only one that needs no name and no arithmetic for most people.
What a Birthday number is
A Birthday number comes from one thing: the day of the month you were born. Not the month, not the year. Born on the 14th, your Birthday number is 5, because 1 plus 4 is 5. Born on the 7th, it is simply 7.
A specific talent you brought with you. Smaller in scope than the Life Path and often the thing people notice about you first.
It is the narrowest of the five core numbers and it is treated as a specific inherited talent rather than a description of a whole life. Numerology gives the wide view to the Life Path and keeps this one small on purpose.
How to calculate your Birthday number
- Take the day of the month you were born, from 1 to 31. Ignore the month and the year entirely.
- If that day is 11 or 22, stop. Those are master numbers and they are kept as they are.
- Otherwise add the two digits together. The 26th becomes 2 plus 6, which is 8.
- If that addition lands on 11, stop there too. This only happens on the 29th, where 2 plus 9 is 11.

Two things worth noticing in that table. Only the 11th, the 22nd and the 29th produce a master number, and no day of the month can produce a 33 at all, so a Birthday number of 33 does not exist. And the 1st, 10th, 19th and 28th all produce a 1, which is why four separate days share the same Birthday number.
