Numerology and your number

What is a Life Path number?

Your Life Path number is your complete date of birth reduced to a single digit, or to one of the master numbers 11, 22, or 33. In numerology it is considered the core number, the one describing the broad character of the road you are on rather than a specific event on it.

Nine root numbers plus three master numbers gives twelve. Whichever one your birthdate resolves to is the number we embroider on your piece.

How do I find mine?

Use the calculator. Enter your complete date of birth and it computes instantly. Your first name is optional and adds three more numbers.

By hand: add every digit of your birth date together, then keep reducing until you reach a single digit. March 14, 1992 becomes 3 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 2 = 29, then 2 + 9 = 11. Eleven is a master number, so it stops there rather than reducing to 2.

How the birthdate 03/14/1992 reduces to Life Path 11.

  1. Add every digit of the date, 0 plus 3 plus 1 plus 4 plus 1 plus 9 plus 9 plus 2. That gives 29.
  2. 2 plus 9 is 11.

Life Path 11.

The chain stops at 11. 11, 22 and 33 are master numbers, so they keep both digits instead of reducing. This one is never taken down to 2.

Why does the calculator ask for my first name and birth year?

Because the arithmetic needs them. The date of birth drives the Life Path number. The first name drives the Expression, Soul Urge and Personality numbers, since each letter maps to a value. We do not ask for a middle name or a surname, because the method we use does not read them.

We know that is a sensitive pair of details to hand over, so we are specific about it: the calculation runs in your browser, your birth date is stored only in your own browser's local storage with an automatic expiry, it is never written to an order record, and you can erase it with one click. The full explanation is in section 3 of the privacy policy. Using the calculator is optional; you can shop the whole site without it.

Is any of this scientifically true?

No, and we are not going to tell you otherwise. Numerology is a symbolic tradition, not a science, and nothing on this site is a prediction or a substitute for professional advice of any kind.

It is a lens. Some people find it clarifying, some find it entertaining, and either is a fine reason to wear a number you like.

What are the master numbers?

11, 22, and 33. When a birth date reduces to one of these, numerology convention holds the reduction there rather than taking it down to 2, 4, or 6. They are traditionally read as more demanding versions of those roots: the Inspirer, the Master Builder, the Master Teacher. If yours is a master number, that is the number that gets stitched, unreduced.

The three master numbers and the single digits they sit above.

11
1 plus 1 is 2, so 11 sits above the 2. Reduced with master numbers kept, 11 stays 11.
22
2 plus 2 is 4, so 22 sits above the 4. Reduced with master numbers kept, 22 stays 22.
33
3 plus 3 is 6, so 33 sits above the 6. Reduced with master numbers kept, 33 stays 33.
Each master number sits above a single digit, its own digits added. The dashed line is the step numerology declines to take, so an 11 stays an 11 and is never written as a 2.

The garments

Where and how are they made?

In-house, on Long Island, New York, through the same owner's apparel production operation. They are not drop-shipped from a third-party print-on-demand warehouse.

Every piece is made to order, meaning production starts after you buy rather than pulling a pre-stitched item off a shelf. That adds a few days before your package ships, and it is the reason someone actually inspects your garment before it goes in the box.

Is there a QR code, and where is it?

Yes. It is on the hangtag, and it is repeated on the inner care label so it stays with the piece after the tag comes off. Because the piece is made for you, the code is yours too: it opens the page for the number we stitched on it, not a generic one. Point any phone camera at it and the full reading of the archetype you are wearing is written out. No app, no account, nothing to install.

It is deliberately not on the outside of the garment. A scannable code dates a piece you are meant to wear for years, and the embroidered number already starts the conversation on its own. Keep the care label and you keep the link.

Are the designs unisex?

Yes. Every piece is cut and sized unisex, and the artwork is not gendered in any direction. The size chart is a single unisex chart rather than separate men's and women's charts.

Practically, unisex sizing runs a little roomier and straighter through the body than women's-cut apparel. If you usually wear a women's medium and want a fitted look, size down one. If you want the oversized look, stay true to size or go up. The size guide has the actual measurements.

How does sizing run?

True to size for a relaxed unisex fit. The sweatshirt is cut roomy on purpose. The tee is a standard unisex cut.

Measure a garment you already own and love, lay it flat, and compare it to the chart. That beats guessing from a letter every time. Between sizes and undecided? Email us with your usual size in a brand you like and we will give you a straight recommendation.

How should I wash it?

Turn it inside out. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. Tumble dry low, or hang dry, which is better. Do not bleach. Do not iron directly on the embroidery; press the reverse side if you must.

Heat and abrasion are what age embroidery. Cold wash and low heat and the stitching stays crisp for years. Note that a washed garment cannot be exchanged, so try it on before the first wash.

Will the embroidery pull or fray?

Not with reasonable care. Followed the instructions above and the stitching still pulls, puckers, or frays within 30 days of delivery? That is a defect and we will remake it at no cost. Send us photos.

Ordering, shipping, exchanges

How long until my order arrives?

Two separate clocks. Production takes 3 to 5 business days because the piece is made for you. Transit takes 2 to 7 business days depending on service and distance. Add them together and count business days only.

You get a tracking email the moment the label is created. Full detail on the shipping page.

Can I return something?

No, and here is the straight reason. Every piece we sell is embroidered with the number your birthdate produces, so it is made for one person and cannot be sold to anyone else. There is nothing to restock. Nothing on this site is returnable for a refund.

What you get instead: if we got it wrong, wrong number, wrong size against your order, or a defect, we remake it free within 30 days and you can take a full refund instead if you prefer. If you got the size wrong, you can exchange it within 14 days for the cost of the remake. Full terms on the returns page.

How do size exchanges work?

Email us with your order number and the size you want, within 14 days of delivery, one swap per item. The piece must be unworn beyond trying it on and unwashed.

Your replacement is a completely new garment, not a shelf swap, because the one you have carries your number and cannot be resold. So an exchange has a cost, and we quote it before charging anything. Keep the original, there is nothing to send back. Read the size guide first or just email us your usual size in a brand you own; we answer fit questions much faster than we build replacements.

When do I get my refund?

In the cases where a refund applies, a cancellation inside 2 hours, an order we cancel, our mistake where you want the money rather than a remake, or a package the carrier lost, we submit it to your original payment method within 2 business days of agreeing it and email you when we do. Your bank typically posts it 5 to 10 business days after that.

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet. All 50 states, DC, US territories, and APO/FPO addresses for now.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Within 2 hours of ordering, reliably, and that cancellation is a full refund at no cost. After that we will still try, and if the piece has not gone to the embroidery machine we can usually catch it. Once a tracking number exists the carrier controls the package. Nothing can be unstitched, so the sooner you write the better.

I entered the wrong birthdate. What happens?

We stitch the number your birthdate produces, so a wrong date gives a wrong number, and the garment is not defective. That one is not on us, which is why your cart shows you the exact number that goes on the piece on the last screen before you pay. Check it there and this never happens.

Notice within 2 hours of ordering? Email us and we cancel and refund in full, no fee, nothing stitched yet. After production starts we will make you the correct piece at the remake price, the same as a size exchange. Details on the returns page.

Something is wrong with my order. What now?

Email [email protected] with your order number and two photos: the whole garment and a close-up of the problem. We reply within 1 business day on business days and we will either remake it or refund you, your choice, at no cost to you.

Please write to us before filing a chargeback. A dispute locks the order into a 60 to 90 day bank process and takes away our ability to just fix it.
